We provide a wide range of automotive repair services to meet your needs. We promise to provide every service with a smile, and to your highest level of satisfaction.

Automotive Maintenance

Preventative maintenance extends the life of your vehicle and keeps it running safely and efficiently. That’s the plain and simple truth. When you bring your vehicle into Ed's Automotive & Light Truck Repair for each recommended service visit, we can assess the health of the system in question and the parts that make up that system.

Filter and Oil Change
Whether you need a filter and oil change every 3,000 or 7,500 miles, we will get you in and out quickly. Motor oil is the lifeblood of your engine, and dirty or thin oil can damage crucial engine parts. We recommend regular oil changes for optimal viscosity to protect those parts.

Chassis Lubrication
Your automobile’s chassis also requires regular lubrication. The chassis is your car, truck, or SUV’s undercarriage. The undercarriage is made up of the shocks or struts, springs, steering arms, and suspension springs. These parts require lubrication to operate at their best.

Fluid Changes
Your vehicle has other fluids that require maintenance, including your radiator and transmission. If you drive a vehicle with power steering, this fluid needs to be changed at recommended intervals, as does your AC coolant and brake fluid. We’ll top off your window washer well, too.
Transmission Services

Don’t believe the hype that your vehicle has “life-long” transmission oil in it. No transmission oil is life-long, and it’s a good idea to let remove the pan and inspect it for leaks or other wear, replace the pan gasket, flush and change the transmission oil, and adjust your manual clutch.

Tune-Ups
No vehicle has life-long spark plugs, plug wires, or fuel injectors, either. We’ll check your onboard electronics, the battery, the power balance, look for engine air leaks, verify your ignition timing and idle speed, and, of course, change the plugs, wires, and injectors when necessary.

Tire Rotation and Balances
To prevent uneven wear and the risk of blowouts, your tires should be rotated and balanced regularly. This might come as a shock to you, but the recommended tire rotation schedule is every 6,000 to 8,000 miles. We can rotate your tires every other oil change.

Mileage Milestone Services
Your vehicle’s manufacturer recommends mileage milestone services at 30,000, 60,000, and 90,000 miles. Depending on the milestone, these services include crucial maintenance such as changing the timing belt to prevent severe engine damage. Don’t ignore these crucial services.

We Are Prevention Experts

Ed's Automotive & Light Truck Repair, believes prevention really is the best medicine. When you bring your vehicle into our shop, we’ll discuss your manufacturer’s recommendations and your driving habits. We will then set up the ideal maintenance schedule.

Comfort System

Who says you can’t be as comfortable in your automobile as you are when you’re relaxing at home? Gone are the days of suffering in the sweltering heat or freezing during the winter. Today’s vehicle is equipped with a comfort system that keeps the cabin temperature exactly where you want it, and Anderson Automotive services it.
System Diagnosis
Let’s start with the first line of defense against comfort system breakdown: system diagnosis. As with the other systems in your vehicle, your air conditioner and heater require regular maintenance. Whether you bring your car, truck, or SUV in for servicing or because there’s a problem, we won’t start the work until we inspect the system visually and via computer diagnostics. This tells us exactly what is wrong so we can fix it.

Heater Cores
A crucial component of your vehicle’s heating system, think of the heater core as a mini-radiator. The core takes hot coolant and passes it through an inner tube – called a heat exchanger. Fins use the heat from this coolant to warm the air that blows into the cabin. If you turn up the heat in the vehicle yet have no hot air, if you notice a coolant smell inside your automobile, if your windows fog up even with the defroster on, you might have a heater core issue. We can fix it.

 Air Conditioning Service
As with your home’s AC, you should have your vehicle’s air conditioner serviced regularly, too. At the proper mileage milestone, we will measure your system pressure, inspect the system for leaks or other trouble, diagnose any trouble with your AC compressor, flush and replace the fluids, and check all lines for wear and tear. This ensures your air conditioner works as it should all summer long, which you’ll be thankful for when summer hits.

AC Compressors
If something is wrong with your AC compressor, we will fix or replace it. Driven by the serpentine belt in the engine, the AC compressor that pressurizes the coolant and your air conditioner cannot blow cool air without it. To cool the air down, the compressor spins faster than you can imagine, so yes, it will breakdown eventually. You needn’t worry, however, because we can replace your compressor should it fail.

Blower Motors
It’s no surprise that you won’t have any air blowing into the cabin through the vents without a blower motor, and these, too, can fail. The most common symptom of blower motor trouble is your AC or heater ignoring the dashboard controls. In other words, you flip the AC on and nothing happens. You may also hear grinding or whining noises from the passenger side floor when you turn on the AC or heater. If this is the case, bring your vehicle in for an inspection.
We’ll Keep You Comfortable

Brake Repair

You don’t need us to tell you how important your brakes are to the safety of your vehicle. You rely on them to stop your car, truck, or SUV every time you depress the brake pedal.  Ed's Automotive & Light Truck Repair is brake system experts on both domestic and import vehicles. We service, repair, and replace ABS and standard brakes.

Inspection and Diagnosis
First things first, however. When you bring your vehicle into our shop, we’ll start with a comprehensive brake inspection to diagnose any problems.

ABS Diagnosis
Of course, part of our inspection and diagnosis includes an anti-lock braking system diagnosis. One of the greatest feats in automobile safety, anti-lock brakes prevent drivers from skidding when they must slam on their brakes, especially in wet weather. You might not know this, but when you first start your car, your ABS tests itself. This is why you see the ABS light on your dashboard illuminate for a brief period. We’ll hook the system up to our computer to read the self-test and ensure your ABS brakes are operating as they should.

Disc and Drum Service
Whether ABS or standard, most brake systems today are a combination of disc and drum brakes. Your disc brakes are on the front wheels of your vehicle and the drum brakes stop the rear wheels. The main components of these two systems are pads, shoes, rotors, and calipers. If you notice squeals when you stop your vehicle or your steering wheel shimmies when you press on the brake pedal, bring it in. These are signs of trouble with the pads, shoes, or rotors.

 Master Cylinders
When you depress your brake pedal, the master cylinder takes that force and converts it into hydraulic pressure. This hydraulic pressure pushes the brake fluid into your brake’s calipers and wheel cylinders, or slave cylinders as engineers call them. The pressure of the brake fluid in combination with the brake parts stop your vehicle. Your automobile cannot stop without the master cylinder. Inspecting the master cylinder is part of our brake system service.

If Something’s Wrong, We’ll Find It
If we see anything wrong with your master cylinder or any other part of your brake system, we will discuss your repair or replacement options. For all brake services, we will give you the anticipated remaining lifespan of the parts.
